Manager Corporate Communications Benelux (m/f)

In Benelux, the local Junior Manager, Corporate Communications, will focus on internal communications.

Regarding External communications, which are case driven, mainly focusing on local topics, the Junior manager will work with the support of a senior consultant managing media relations and crisis communications.

Internal Communications:

  • Develop and manage employee communications programs to unify employees under the Henkel brand and facilitate strategy cascading process to increase understanding and support of employees.

  • Implement the standards of Henkel internal communications in line with CC priorities, Strategic roadmap and message house, as well as adapt internal communications to the current local requirements. Facilitate roll-out of central initiatives.

  • Responsible for internal channels (internal social media, Intranet, wall papers, internal newsletters, Henkel Life magazine, posters…):content creation and curation.

  • Development and organization of interactive events (Round Tables, Talks@henkel, Managers Meeting…).

  • Develop a strong network within the company and manage a cross-business/function editorial committee (to be created).

Henkel Brand Management:

  • Shape and safeguard Henkel corporate brand and develop associated tools (print and digital) consistently with Henkel corporate design.

  • Tactical efforts would include corporate websites, events...


  • Develop and maintain key corporate message set for Henkel in Benelux. Produce briefing materials for senior management, including Q&A documents for various target audiences.

Stakeholders and Media Relations:

  • With the support of an external senior consultant managing corporate media relations and crisis coms:

  • Implement agreed strategies to build up and protect the reputation of Henkel ;
  • Adapt and develop global and local press releases and events, corporate and national, based on global standards.
  • ensure clear, timely and orderly communications in time of crisis, product recall or related issues that require fast, consistent and unified responses to internal and external audiences, in close cooperation with Henkel issues management global team and local crisis committee members

  • Act as a partner to local executives and international Henkel CC team, taking into account global policies of Henkel, local requirements and media contexts, and ensure that agreed activities are executed in line with plans.

Management & interfaces:

  • Strong team member of the BeneFrance corpcom structure, sharing best practises and lessons learned, developing stories to be used in global corporate communications channels (intranet, internal social media, internet…).

  • Day-to-day interface of CC in Benelux with the President of Henkel Benelux and local executives (excom members).
  • Report to the head of CC in BeneFrance.
  • Plan, budget and report communications expenses based on national and Corporate Controlling standards.
  • Manage one intern.


  • Master Degree in communications, business or related discipline.

  • Capacity to work with a large degree of autonomy while respecting the provided framework

  • Ability to focus on priorities while multitasking as well as paying strong attention to qualitative execution.

  • Good general knowledge (cultural specificities of the different Benelux regions, strong interest in media and political environment) as well as analytical skills.

  • Creative thinker, well organized, with a strong willingness to bring added value

  • Strong team player.

  • Fluent in Dutch, English and French with strong writing skills esp. in Dutch & English.

  • First experience (ideally 2 to 3 years) in Corporate Communications.Knowledge of the standards of corporate communications for global listed companies (such as Fortune 500 companies) would be a plus.

  • Editorial experience and affinity with digital and social media.

  • The Junior Corporate Communications manager in Benelux will be based in Brussels (Belgium), while traveling regularly to Nieuwegein (The Netherlands).
